Pagani Zonda R promo – Click above to watch video after the jump

The Pagani Zonda R comes down to three words: More. Track. Focused. Yet, what good would it to do merely imagine that focus? We’ll have none of that. What we will have is rather dramatic high-res video of one, and then two, Zonda Rs on track in the rain, making roostertails as they slide their own tails. In fact, no more talking about it – follow the jump to watch to watch the twelve-cylinder wet dream in action.

KBB spends time aloft in the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor – Click above to watch video after the jump

Do we even need to say again that we love the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor? No? All right. But we do. Anyway, if we can’t be actually driving the thing, what we’ll take after that is someone else properly driving it and getting high-def video, especially if said footage involves jumps.

The folks at Kelley Blue Book have filmed just such a video, in which it offers nine suggestions of the things you should definitely do in one, and while our favorite is jumping, we wouldn’t mind trying out Tip #6: Drive it like we’re being chased by murderous robots. Since that one will probably come true. Rather soon. And we could use some practice. Follow the jump for the vid.

How not to get your camper unstuck – Click above watch the video after the break

The caravan you see above is stuck betwixt the two walls. We don’t know how they got it in there, if they couldn’t get it out – nevertheless, the reality on the ground is that it wouldn’t come up. One would think there had been enough of these videos from all corners of the world to prove that sledgehammering the throttle doesn’t solve problems. Unless you’re in Iceland. Yet this gent, who isn’t in Iceland, is the next to learn that lesson the hard, and expensive, way. Follow the jump for the turmoil. Hat tip to Duy!

Here we have an in-car accessory that won’t ask you to take more of your attention from the road. The Toshiba MK2060GSC hard-disk-drive will be available later this year in 100GB and 200GB flavors for OEM entertainment systems. About the only spec that could be considered so-so is the 4,200-rpm rotational speed, but otherwise it will perform beyond your car’s limits: it can be used in temperatures from -22 Fahrenheit to 185, from 999 feet below sea level to 18,645 (but you can take it up to 39,600 feet when not in operation) and it’s able to survive a 300-g shock.

Right now, for example, hard-disk-drive systems with 50 total gigabytes of storage only have around 20 gigabytes left over for your own digital goodies once the navigation system and peripherals have been taken care of. With at least 100GB on tap from the Toshiba, that opens up your library possibilities enormously. We don’t know why you’d need more music and movies stored in your car unless you have a Peterbilt in your garage, but we don’t get paid to ask those kinds of questions, so we won’t… There’s a press release after the jump if you’re really into hard disks.

Just one more thing: how much longer until solid-state drives completely take over such purposes?

Duroflash safety LEDs – Click above to watch video after the jump

Don’t want to dirty your hands again on traditional flares? Looking for the Rolls-Royce of roadside safety lighting? Duroflares could be it. The unit is roughly four-inch-square of aluminum with an LED tinted red or blue, are waterproof and can support up to 20,000 pounds. In other words, it would take a loaded semi to crush them.

Powered by a rechargeable lithium ion cell, the Duroflares come in a box that acts as both a charger and the on/off switch: take them out, they come on, plug them back in, they turn off. They’re a little on the pricey side at $180, but if you spend a lot of time on the side of the road these might be for you. Follow the jump to see them in action.

T&J Towing suing Michigan student for $750,000 – Click above to watch the video

Where does reporting the facts end and libel begin? That’s what a court in Michigan will probably be deciding when it takes on the case of T&J Towing vs. Justin Kurtz. According to WoodTV.com, Back in February, Kurtz began a Facebook page called Kalamazoo (Michigan) Residents Against T&J Towing for the purpose of letting people tell their stories about encounters with T&J. Seems no one has anything good to say about T&J’s towing practices, and the company wants all that bad press to stop. Somehow they think that will happen by suing Kurtz, a Western Michigan University student, for $750,000.

In the video available after the jump, a legal professor weighs in on the suit and questions how T&J expects to win its case when Kurtz hasn’t lied about the company or even written the stories. But, of course, anyone with a few bucks and a free hour can file a lawsuit. We wish everyone involved the best of luck and a speedy resolution. Hat tip to Chris VH!

The new Vauxhall Astra – or something or someone claiming to be the new Vauxhall Astra – has co-written a book on driving manners. The other co-writer is Debrett’s, an English version of Miss Manners except that Debrett’s has been dispensing etiquette advice for more than 200 years, long before Miss Manners’ was even a zygote.

And that ancient lineage – at least, by American standards – could explain the quaint tone of Thoroughly Modern Motoring Manners, a 48-page work that would put a little more chivalry back on the roads. Advice includes “It’s good manners to remove your hat in the car, just as you would when entering a building,” and “A chivalrous man will ensure that his female passenger is comfortable before the journey begins. He should offer to take her coat, check that her seat is adjusted and be sure that the temperature is to her liking.”

Well, then. Men of honor, you have your orders. To find out what you need to know regarding everything else mannered and motored, just £5.99 ($9.22 U.S.) placed with Debrett’s or Amazon UK will get a volume shipped speedily to you. And you know all the Astra boys will be doing it, so don’t be shy. More words of etiquette wisdom are available in the press release after the jump.

This will get some heads turning: after a drive on challenging Welsh roads, Autocar has written “In its poise and agility I’d even say the MG6 is superior” to the Ford Focus Zetec S. There are other compromises: the interior, the gearchange, the NVH, grunt at high revs. But the first bespoke Nanjing-created MG, the MG6, is a certified runner according to the UK mag.

The MG6 hatch was designed at Longbridge, and it benchmarked the Focus for its own handling prowess. The turbocharged 1.8-liter Honda K-series engines isn’t new, but the platform is, and this version of the car was tuned for European drivers and roads. As we said, there remain a few niggles, but for a pre-production car to be declared “borderline best-in-class to drive,” and by a British pub no less, well, there could be gold in them thar (unlikely) hills.

BMW Roadside Assistance smartphone app – Click above for image gallery

When it comes to the side of the road, let’s just say you’re not looking to get more familiar with it. Being stuck there is bad enough; being stuck there in a luxury car might be considered even worse. BMW wants to take a some of that edge off by making it easier to get help, introducing a personalized smartphone app for its BMW Roadside Assistance.

If Ultimate Service was included with your new or pre-owned BMW, then you can take advantage of it, or those who adopted too early can purchase an annual subscription. It works on iPhones, BlackBerries and Android phones – sorry, Palm and WinMo – and expedites requests for any BMW registered in the U.S. since 1975. Follow the jump for the press release, and look what you can do with your smartphone in the gallery of photos below.
